Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use Digital Skill Passport, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, large text or an old phone.
Our target
We build to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, on the website and in the app.
What is built in
- English and Hindi, in plain words.
- Text can be made twice as large without losing content.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus.
- Buttons, images and forms have labels for screen readers.
- Text and buttons have enough colour contrast, in light and dark mode.
- Animations stop when your phone asks for less motion.
- Works on small and older phones and on slow connections.
What does not work well yet
- The map is hard to use with a screen reader. The list view shows the same opportunities and works fully.
- Listing text is translated by a machine, so some wording may read oddly in your language.
- Some documents that partners attach to a listing may not be accessible. Ask our helpdesk to read them out to you.
How we test
Every screen is checked with automated accessibility tests, with a keyboard and on a small phone before it is released. An independent review by people with disabilities is planned before launch.
Tell us about a barrier
If something is hard to use, tell our helpdesk through the help and contact page. Tell us the page and what happened. We reply, and we fix what we can.
